Minister Kim Hyun-mee, Paves the Way for Cooperation with Eurasia Railways
Meet with OSJD Chairman at Warsaw, Poland on Jan. 14
□ Minster Kim Hyun-mee of MOLIT visited the OSJD committee in Warsaw, Poland on Monday, January 14 to discuss specifically on the cooperation plan between Korea and OSJD.
ㅇ It was the first meeting since Korea has become a full OSJD member last June. Most of major personnel of OSJD including Chairman Tadeusz Szozda, vice-Chairman, Head of 5 sub-committees and more had attended this meeting.
□ Minister Kim explained recent cooperative movements of inter-Korean railway and mentioned the expectation for strengthening cooperation with OSJD from now on. In return, OSJD expressed a great interest in the economic effect when the inter-Korea railway is linked to continental railways.
□ Moreover, at the meeting Koreas role and plan for joining the Agreements on International Passenger and Goods Traffic by Rail (SMPS and SMGS) were discussed in detail.
ㅇ She discussed the plan for hosting Conference of the General Directors for the first time by Korea since becoming a full OSJD member, dispatching personnel to OSJD and organizing education programs. She achieved a foundation to work with the Eurasian railways in connection with the future inter-Korean cooperation.
