National Geographic Information Institute (director general Sagong HoSang) will prepare the map for color vision deficiency and service it with free of charge in National Land Information Platform* from July 21.

‘Map for Color Vision Deficiency’ refers to the map prepared by changing the color so that the color vision deficiency* can identify the traffic, water system, vegetation, note, etc. expressed with diverse colors easily.

* “Color Anomaly” is that the certain color is not recognized or is not distinguished with other color due to congenital dysfunction or acquired damage of retinal cone cell and the deuteranomalia occupies the most and the green-blind, red-blind, red anomaly, tritanomaly are followed in order (Source: National Health Information Portal of Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention).

Object to be serviced are three maps of complete map of Korea, map of Korea and its vicinity and world map and in future, the map will be expanded such as On Map*, etc.

Sagong Ho-Sang, director general of National Geographical Information Institute said "it is expected that the map for color vision deficiency would help the color vision deficiency to obtain the accurate spatial information, and stated "We will expand the spatial information making for socially underprivileged such as visually impaired who alienated in the utilization of spatial information.
