On 16 January, Minister Won met with the Minister of Transport in Abu Dhabi to discuss all-round cooperation on transportation and hydrogen signing 3 ministerial-level MOUs such as hydrogen city and smart infrastructure while encouraging Korean companies to enter the local market, such as smart cities, by visiting the business consultation meetings
Minister WON Hee-ryong, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), who is officially undertaking President YOON Suk-yeol's state visit to the UAE, had a meeting with H.E. Falah Al Ahbabi, Minister of Urban and Transport, in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Sun. 16 January and discussed the ways to strengthen cooperation on overall infrastructure between the two countries.
The meeting took place on the spot of the forum on Sun. 16 January, with both Minister Won and Minister Al Ahbabi attending the Korea-UAE Business Forum.
Korea and the UAE are expanding cooperation in the field of hydrogen while promoting a transition to a hydrogen economy by preemptively responding to carbon neutrality.
As part of this, the two countries are developing technology for hydrogen charging station suitable for the UAE and conducting a technology development and research project* that will be demonstrated in Korea by 2023 and then demonstrated in the UAE from 2024.
