An Invitation to the Zero Energy Recital – Lights and Sounds from the Sun
- Recital hosted at the Sejong Roren House, Korea’s first zero energy housing pilot complex
- All event equipment including sound, lighting and stage operated with electricity generated within the complex
- Talent donation by Daniel Lindemann from Germany, a leading nation in renewable energy; collaboration with tenants
□ A special musical recital using only solar power will be held at the Sejong Roren House, Korea’s first zero energy housing pilot complex.
ㅇ In addition to the piano performance of the Germany TV celebrity Daniel Lindemann who will appear in the form of talent donation, an open musical recital joined by residents will be held.
□ At 7 p.m. on Sep 23 (Mon), MOLIT (Minister Kim Hyun-mi) will host a special recital <Lights and Sounds from the Sun> at Roren House located in Goun-dong, Sejong together with LH and the Korea Energy Agency.
ㅇ Roren House* is the first project designated as a complex-type standalone house of the zero-energy pilot project being pursued by MOLIT and LH and was completed in February 2019.

- Heat recovery and ventilation devices and solar power panels, etc. were installed to self-generate over 80% of the energy used for heating, cooling, lighting, etc. (energy self-sufficiency)*.
* Zero energy building grade 2 (scheduled for Dec ‘19), Energy efficiency rating certification 1+++ (Dec ’18)
- In addition, by adopting various high-efficiency equipment systems the energy consumption was lowered so that homes will practically have no energy costs excluding in extreme heat and cold.
□ What makes the first recital held at Roren House ‘Lights and Sounds from the Sun’ so special is that sound equipment, lighting and stage equipment used for the recital will be operated using only solar power that is self-generated.
ㅇ This recital is scheduled for about 40 minutes and the TV personality Daniel Lindemann from Germany will also play the piano in addition to an assorted repertoire such as participation by the residents.
- Furthermore, for those who could not attend the recital, it will be aired live in real-time on the MOLIT’s official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/channel/UC0G0Z05LATPtpUkxeOrEjOA*), while introducing comments and questions to enhance the level of communication.

□ MOLIT Construction Policy Officer Kim Sang-moon said, “Through this recital, it will be possible to get hands-on experience on how environment-friendly and abundant the lives of our generation can be with renewable energy.”
ㅇ He added, “We will continue to work on spreading awareness for zero energy building ahead of the mandatory zero energy building starting next year for public buildings.”
