□ The Korea Materials Handling & Logistics Exhibition (KOREA MAT) will be held to show the trends of the logistics industry in the fourth industrial revolution including AI-based robot arms, autonomous transportation robots, unmanned forklifts, etc., and to provide support for logistics companies to enter domestic and foreign markets.

ㅇKOREA MAT, which was first held in 2011 and is celebrating its 9th anniversary this year, is Korea‘s largest international logistics exhibit that includes the transportation, service, storage, IT and logistics equipment sectors, and it is hosted by the Korea Integrated Logistics Association and sponsored by MOLIT (Minister Kim Hyun-mee).

□ At KOREA MAT, a total of 164 companies including logistics equipment development companies and logistics service companies will open up 572 booths to promote their high-tech logistics equipment and services.

ㅇThis exhibit will allow visitors to grasp the latest logistics trends for the fourth industrial revolution such as AI-based robot arms, autonomous transportation robots, and unmanned forklifts, while predicting the development forecast of the logistics industry.

ㅇIn particular, the MOLIT R&D booth will also be provided to examine cutting-edge equipment in the logistics sector developed by small and medium enterprises using government R&D.

□KOREA MAT will also provide a number of auxiliary events such as global investment seminars and seminars for strategies on using advanced logistics technologies.

ㅇ Overseas investment strategies and customs clearance seminars will be held on April 16 (Tue) to help support domestic logistics companies enter foreign markets.

-Seminars on investment strategies for Southeast Asia joined by government workers from Indonesia (Investment Coordinating Board), Malaysia (Investment Development Authority) and Thailand (Department of International Trade Promotion) and market experts will be held, while also hosting1:1 business meetings between overseas agencies and domestic businesses.

ㅇ The 4th industrial revolution advanced logistics technology utilization strategy seminar will be held on April 17 (Wed).

- It will describe strategies that can be used in the logistics sector of key technologies of the fourth industrial revolution such as block-chain, smart logistics system solutions*, logistics automation, etc.

* Prompt and accurate inventory and car dispatch management using data including order quantity, delivery region, time, etc.

□ Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Jeong-ryeol attended the opening ceremony (Apr 16) and stated, “The logistics industry is quickly developing into a high value industry due to the growth of everyday logistics such as delivery and the introduction of high tech and new technologies such as robots and drones.“

ㅇ He added, “We will do our best for the innovation and development of the logistics industry such as fostering everyday logistics, computing appropriate safe fares, advancement of the logistics industry, and supporting entry into foreign markets.”
