Vice Minister Park Sun-ho “Plant Clean Forests that Reduce Microdust With Our Hands”
- Over 700 cypress trees with excellent microdust-reduction effects planted on the 74th Arbor Day
□ Senior Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sun-ho held a tree-planting event on Arbor Day to plant approximately 700 cypress trees* at 0.5 hectares of woods and fields; San 20-4 Wonseong-ri, Jeonui-myeon, Sejong-si together with other employees on the 74th Arbor Day.
* Known to emit the most phytoncide among plants and is said to have excellent microdust reduction effects
ㅇ This year’s tree-planting event was the seventh time this year since moving the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to Sejong-si and approximately 50 MOLIT employees including Senior Vice Minister Park Sun-ho participated in the event.
□ Vice Minister Park said with emphasis, “Today’s tree-planting event is not simply planting trees, but a meaningful event of making green spaces where life lives and breathes to share this value with all citizens and to pass it down to our descendants.”
ㅇ He added, “Forests are our future and hope, and I hope that the trees that we plant today will become a valuable opportunity for recreating the national territory.”
ㅇ He also stated, “Our ministry deals with policies that are closely related to everyday lives of citizens, and so we should focus all of our efforts to strengthen scattering dust reduction measures at construction sites, expand distribution of eco-friendly cars, reduce operation of official-use vehicles, lead through example by using public transportation, and act in a way that can reduce microdusts.”
