MOLIT Shares Land, City and Housing Policies with Six Nations in Latin America

- Vice Minister Park Sun-ho holds meeting with senior public official group from Latin America and the Inter-American Development Bank on May 21 (Tue)

□ Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sun-ho met with Ecuador Minister of Urban Development Germán Xavier Torres Correa and Costa Rica Vice Minister of Housing and Human Settlements Patricio Morera Viquez, and others.

ㅇ A meeting was held with 11 senior public officials from six countries in Latin America as well as IDB personnel at the Seoul Grand Hyatt Hotel at 14:00 on May 21 (Tue).


ㅇ Korea’s land, city and housing policies and project experiences were shared and various opinions on cooperation plans in the urban development and infrastructure sectors.

□ Vice Minister Park Sun-ho said, “In the past few years, there has been an increase in exchanges with Latin American nations through summit visits, but also exchange by MOLIT, public agencies and private companies, and despite the physical distance with Latin American nations, cooperation in land, city and infrastructure sectors have increased significantly.”

ㅇ He added, “Today’s meeting was a meaningful opportunity to share our experiences in various fields such as land and city plans, capital area policies, urban regeneration, housing policies for the socially vulnerable classes, etc. with high-ranking policy-makers in Central and South America.”

ㅇ “We hope that discussions on detailed follow-up project will be further expanded such as in finding and cooperating in urban development and infrastructure projects of Latin American nations.”
