Vice Minister EO Myeong-so of the MOLIT met with Dimitri Kusnezov, Under Secretary for the Science and Technology Directorate at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in Seoul on the morning of 22 March to discuss plans for the pilot operation of the Common Viewer Air System (CVAS*) for checked baggage from Incheon to Atlanta promoted by both countries along with mutual recognition of aviation security equipment, and agreed to take bilateral aviation security cooperation to the next level.

* (Common Viewer Air System) Baggage screening information from Incheon to Atlanta shared with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security → Completed screening prior to arrival of the flight by the U.S. → Baggage screening exempted after arriving at Atlanta Airport
