Innovative technology exhibit such as hydrogen economy, smart city, drones, autonomous vehicles, as well as bonus events such as the big data hackathon

□ The ‘2019 Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Fair’, which will be a festival for communication and exchange where science-technology research achievements and new technologies in the land, infrastructure and transport sectors will be put on display and joined by companies and experts will be held for three days starting on May 29 at the Ilsan KINTEX Hall 10.

ㅇ This event, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary and supervised by the MOLIT (Minister Kim Hyun-mee) and hosted by the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA), is the largest event in the land, infrastructure and transport science technology field in Korea and is joined by industries, academic circles, research institutes, and government agencies.

□ The exhibit hall that will be joined by the most institutes ever (205) will be comprised of exhibit booths that show the latest trends of the 7 major innovative technologies in the land, infrastructure and transport sectors* and future technological development directions.

* Hydrogen economy, smart city, drones, autonomous cars, smart construction, zero-energy building (ZEB), data economy

ㅇ Also, a special hall called the SME BIZ Hall will be provided to introduce the technologies developed by SMEs, while also holding venture capital (VC) investment seminars, consultation sessions between public ordering bodies and SMEs to create opportunities to make actual achievements.

ㅇ In addition, there will also be a variety of other events such as a knowledge forum to predict the future with experts, big data hackathons, etc., as well as academic and policy seminars in over 30 fields that share the latest technologies and knowledge related to land, infrastructure and transport.

〈Makeup of Exhibit Halls〉

ㅇ The Hydrogen Economy Hall introduces the vision of the hydrogen (economy) city, together with hydrogen energy technologies such as mobile hydrogen storage tanks, hydrogen fuel cell drones, etc., and the Smart Construction Hall introduces construction automation technologies that converge cutting-edge technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and big data including unmanned excavators and architectural 3D printers.

ㅇ The Autonomous Driving Hall displays core technologies for autonomous driving such as autonomous cars and unmanned aircraft, while the Future Life Hall will exhibit various technologies that will change our living environment such as smart home health care and large area neo-hanok (traditional Korean homes).

ㅇ The Advanced Infrastructure Hall will show high value-added construction technologies and plant technologies such as multi-layer tunnels and new bridge platform technologies, while the Transportation Logistics Innovation Hall will introduce new transportation means and transportation welfare technologies such as double-decker electric buses and trams.

〈Additional Events〉

ㅇ The land, infrastructure and transport knowledge forum will give the opportunity to draw a new future together with smart city panel discussions together with Hongik University Professor Yoo Han-joon (Future City) and Seoul National University Professor Lee Jung-dong (Technology Innovation).

ㅇ Furthermore, for two days (27 hours) without sleep, 20 teams (69 persons) will engage in the ‘Land, Infrastructure and Transport Big Data Hackathon’ event where they will a fierce battle of the wits to search for ways to actively utilized land, infrastructure and transport big data.

ㅇ In addition, there will be policy and academic debates in over 30 areas such as the hydrogen-based pilot city and the ‘2019 eco-friendly energy and oil gas plant international conference’ while exhibiting a total of 18 excellent ideas selected from a national land, infrastructure and transport technology idea contest held for the past three months.

□ MOLIT Policy Planning Officer Moon Sung-yo said, “We hope that this event will serve as an opportunity for the future visions and achievements of land, infrastructure and transport science technologies to take a step closer to citizens.”

ㅇ He added, “We will provide full support so that the outstanding R&D achievements of companies can become commercialized and thus create new jobs.”
