The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister PARK Sang-woo) has initiated emergency housing support measures in
collaboration with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH, CEO LEE Han-joon) to facilitate swift recovery of those affected by the recent
wildfires in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam provinces.
Emergency housing support is a system to provide immediate shelter for displaced residents at no cost by utilizing public rental housing,
and the wildfire victims who need to move into these residences can apply through their local governments to proceed with the move-in
process upon verification, while currently facilitating the number of secured houses for the emergency support with 610 in Gyeongbuk, 107
in Gyeongnam, and 141 in Ulsan.
Displaced individuals will be able to stay monthly rent-free for the initial two years entirely covered by LH and the local governments with
50% support from each.
