The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister NOH Hyeong-ouk) revealed five newly developed Geospatial Big Data Standard Analysis Model, which can be viewed online through the online platform at www.geobigdata.go.kr.
Geospatial Big Data Standard Analysis Model is an analytical model applied with geospatial data and standardized form of relevant data and analytical processes to support the decison making process of various policies.
The use of the model when conducting similar tasks enables users to cut costs and make data-based scientific decisions, as the model can be applied in all areas with the input of the right data per region.
To take “Vulnerable Childcare Center Analysis Model” as an example, although the model was developed for Seoul, with the input of relevant data from Gyeonggi-do Province, the model can be used to create scientific outcomes for the Gyeonggi-do Province.
The models can be used to identify areas lacking COVID-19 screening clinics as well as libraries for future education.
This year, the ministry developed five new models* to better assist traffic, everyday-living and safety-related tasks.
① Analytical Model to identify bus stops with blind spots(Seoul)
② Analytical Model to analyze grounds at potential bus stops(Seoul)
③ Analytical Model to identify Vulnerable Fire Response Areas(Dongjak-gu, Seoul)
④ Analytical Model to identify areas lacking daycare centers(Dongjak-gu, Seoul)
⑤ Analytical Model to identify areas with waste disposal challenges(Gangseu-gu, Seoul)
The models were developed through the GeoBigData analysis platform with advanced analysis speed and functions. The model is open to everyone online at www.geobigdata.go.kr.
MOLIT Director General for Spacial Information Policy Joo Youp Kang said, “The geospatial big data analysis and utilization technology is not only a tool for logical thinking and decision-making but also is an indispensable technology in the 4th industrial revolution generation we live in.”
He also mentioned, “We will continue to develop and utilize various types of creative standard analysis models in order to grow the geospatial data industry and improve the quality of everyday living.
