□ MOLIT (Minister Kim Hyun-mee) announced that it found flaws in the braking devices of 259 dump trucks manufactured and sold by Daimler Truck Korea and Volvo Truck Korea and took corrective actions (recall).

□ It was found that 198 Arocs dump trucks manufactured and sold by Daimler Truck Korea had defective retarders, which is an auxiliary brake using coolant methods, thus having the possibility for improper braking.

ㅇ These construction machines can be repaired (replace with improved retarder and exchange coolant) free of charge at Daimler Truck Korea service centers from May 15.

□ Also, it was found that in 61 FH/FM dump trucks manufactured and sold by Volvo Truck Korea, the automatic slack adjusters of the steering and drive axis brake caliper* were damaged, thus being unable to automatically adjust slack depending on the amount of brake pad abrasion, and thus having the possibility for braking not to work or the braking distance to become longer.

* Device that compresses the pad to the brake disk for deceleration

ㅇ These construction machines can be repaired (exchange brake caliper housing) free of charge at Volvo Truck Korea repair factories from May 10.
