Enhance national competitiveness through the advancement of the logistics industry

  • Expand consulting services to assist the transition from first-party logistics (1PL) to third-party logistics (3PL) to facilitate the use of 3PL services to the level of advanced countries
  • Develop the specialized logistics market and strengthen the growth foundation of logistics firms by publicizing best practices and achievements regarding 3PL services
  • Advance the land cargo market by implementing the direct transport quota system and the transport/mediation report system to eliminate outdated practices such as multi-level transport contracts
  • Create high value-added and quality jobs by promoting the convergence of logistics and related industries such as distribution, IT, etc.

Support the overseas penetration of logistics firms

  • Help the joint overseas entry of cargo owners and logistics companies and the global market penetration of logistics firms by expanding transport networks among Korea, China and Japan
  • Provide comprehensive information on the domestic and overseas logistics markets by building an information portal for the overseas logistics market

Facilitate logistics hubs and improve the operation of logistics system

  • Introduce the urban high-tech logistics complex system called 'e-Logis Town' to meet surging demand for urban logistics and nurture the cutting-edge industry encompassing logistics and distribution
  • Promote the construction, operation and facilitation of inland logistics bases for five major areas nationwide in a way to reduce national logistics costs backed by efficient logistics networks
  • Designate logistics complexes focusing on real demand and assist the timely completion of construction of logistics complexes
  • Advance the national logistics integrated information system backed by leading technologies and improve the operation of the logistics hub information system and the warehousing registration management system, which are RFID-based

Continue to enhance the work environment of logistics workers with welfare programs

  • Support the construction of public truck depots (11 in operation and 15 under construction) and expand amenities in rest areas for truck drivers
  • Expand welfare programs such as scholarships for commercial truck drivers and develop new benefit programs (i.e., cargo information network system that allows truck drivers an access to the logistics information of cargo owners)
  • Promote the new supply of trucks for door-to-door parcel collection and delivery services to address the shortage of vehicles for the purpose
