• All-Out Preemptive Measures for Summer Safety Hazards new post Minister PARK Sang-woo, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), held a meeting with related institutions at the National Transport Information Center located in Government Complex Sejong on 7 July to preemptively review and strengthen nationwide cooperation against seasonal safety risks such as flash floods and extreme heatwaves and so forth during this summer.The meeting was attended by 16 related institutions, including the eight Regional Offices of Construction and Management and Regional Offices of Aviation of the MOLIT, along with eight affiliated organizations including Korea Expressway Corporation, Korea Railroad Corporation, Korea Airports Corporation, Korea Land & Housing Corporation, Korea National Railway, Incheon International Airport Corporation, Suseo High-Speed Railway Corporation, and Korea Authority of Land & Infrastructure Safety.The main discussion on the fields of road, railway, and public housing and so forth was how to prevent floods and heatwave hazards and strengthen managements of vulnerable infrastructure such as road slopes and underground roads, while reviewing real-time monitoring and countermeasure systems.
