Korea-Malta Aviation Meeting... “Three Weekly Flights and Code Share”
- Established basis for new direct flights between the two nations at the aviation meeting on the 5th... Expected to help preoccupy the Northeast Asian market
□ The basis for offering new direct flights to the hidden gem of the Mediterranean was created.
□ MOLIT (Minster Kim Hyun-mee) agreed to set the number of passenger flights between Korea and Malta at three flights per week during the Korea-Malta aviation meeting held in Seoul on April 5.
ㅇ Accordingly, when requested by an airline company, up to three direct flights between Korea and Malta can be newly established.
□ In addition, agreements were made so that not only Korea and Malta, but also airline companies from another nation can participate in code shares so that citizens can travel to Malta using various code share flights until direct flights are set up.
□ MOLIT Air Transport Division Manager Shin Yoon-geun said, “Using the foundation provided through this meeting, once direct flights are offered between Korea and Malta, it is expected that the convenience of our citizens will be improved.”
ㅇ He added, “We believe that it will be an opportunity for Korea to preoccupy the Northeast Asian aviation market by absorbing the aviation demands of nearby countries in Northeast Asia, which do not offer direct flights to Malta as of yet.
