‘Aviation Job Company Mentor Day’ by Inviting Mentors Currently Employed at Airline Companies

- Providing an opportunity to talk about employment between current mentors and mentees in the four fields of cabin crew, piloting, navigation management, and maintenance to share the latest employment information and work experiences, etc.

□ MOLIT (Minister Kim Hyun-mee) announced that it would hold the 1st ‘Aviation Job Company Mentor Day‘ to share the most recent episodes and knowhow in the employment process such as acquiring certifications, writing resumes, and interview tips by having current airline company employees participate as mentors at the Aviation Job Employment Support Center (hereinafter called Job Support Center) from 1:30 p.m. on April 30 (Tue).

ㅇ The Job Support Center* is being jointly operated by MOLIT, Incheon International Airport Corporation, Korea Airports Corporation, and the Korea Civil Aviation Association since September 6, 2018 to provide systematic job support in the aviation sector.

□ The aviation job company mentor day will begin in four sectors such as cabin crew (T‘way Air), piloting (Jin Air), maintenance (Jeju Air), and navigation management (Eastar Jet), which are fields that job-seekers in the aviation sector are especially interested in. The fields are to be expanded in the future.

□ Job-seekers will receive knowhow necessary for successful hiring that may be difficult to come across by such as earning certifications related to duties that can give preferential treatment for employment, tips for writing resumes and interviews, and the latest hiring information of the respective companies in a comfortable atmosphere.

ㅇAs it will also organize ‘current employee mentors‘ that work at the airline companies, it is expected to provide job-seekers with vivid job experience stories and employment knowhow that can provide practical assistant without being restricted by theme or format.

□The Job Employment Center that prepared for this event is pursuing various programs for job-seekers in the aviation sector.

ㅇ Consulting is available anytime with 14 mentors in various fields through pre-application, and monthly employment days are being held at the respective companies, while also operating programs such as quarterly employment support lectures.

ㅇ Furthermore, plans are to hold job hiring seminars (June~) for major airports (Gimhae, Jeju, Daegu, Gwangju, Cheongju), special English classes for overseas employment (first and second half of the year), and the 2nd aerospace industry employment expo (September, Gimpo Airport International Terminal).

□ A representative from MOLIT said, “As good jobs are continuously being created in the aviation sector (app. 14,000 in 2018), the government is planning to actively held create job support policies needed by the young job-seekers together with the growth of the aviation market.
