□ The dormitory-type youth housing is a project that purchases and leases existing homes to offers inexpensive and safe residential areas at dormitory-prices to college students.

ㅇ The first dormitory was purchased by the Korea Land & Housing Corporation and is operated by the Korea Advancing Schools Foundation through the collaboration of the MOLIT and Ministry of Education.

* 4 apartment complex housing, 39 units (total 145 people), average monthly boarding cost approximately 230,000 KRW

□ Minister Kim checked for any inconveniences felt by students living in these dormitories, and she said, “Helping youths to actively prepare for their future without worrying about a place to live is the competitiveness and future of the nation.”

ㅇ She added with emphasis, “We will do our best so that youths will not have to give up on their dreams due to concerns about a place to live by focusing on executing youth residential welfare policies.”

□ After the move-in event of the youth housing in Gaebong-dong, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mee went to the nearby Happy Homes in Oryu-dong to hold the 4th Residential Welfare Council meetings with CEOs of public institutes related to pursuing residential welfare policies.

ㅇ At this meeting, the execution status and achievements of the user-customized residential welfare policies following the announcement of the residential welfare road map in December 2017 were inspected, and discussions were held on the 2019 residential welfare project plans.

□ Minister Kim said, “It is essential to create visible outcomes that citizens can actually feel together with the Gaebong-dong youth housing that we visited today.”
