- Attended the “2019 Civil Engineering Day” Event to Give Medals such as the Bronze Tower of Industrial Merit
□ Senior Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sun-ho attended the “2019 Civil Engineering Day” hosted by the Korea Society of Civil Engineers on March 29 (Wed) at 14:00 to give government rewards and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport awards to 22 people who contributed to the develop of civil engineering technologies
ㅇ Vice Minister Park said in his speech, “It is imperative to construct a customized safety management system where all Korean citizens can enjoy a safe and convenient life.”
- He also emphasized, “It is necessary to expand national communication networks and complete core infrastructure such as roads, railways and airports, etc. to activate the economy and pave the foundation for balanced development.”
ㅇ He especially urged great efforts to be made to find new future bread baskets such as smart cities and hydrogen pilot cities, and emphasized that the role of civil engineers is crucial to achieve such objective.
ㅇ Over 500 people attended this ceremony including Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies Chairperson Kim Myung-ja
ㅇ During construction policy forum held after the commemoration event, experts from the government, academic circles and industries spoke about various themes under the topic ‘Status of rights of citizens and what they feel about national infrastructure’
