□ Senior Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sun-ho attended the ‘Infrastructure Governance Meeting’ co-hosted by the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (hereinafter called KIND) and the World Bank, where he emphasized the need for more active infrastructure development around the world through investment and development projects through the cooperation of the private and public sectors (PPP, etc.).
□ This meeting was first held in 2017 under the leadership of the World Bank and the first and second meetings were both held in Africa. This third meeting was held for the first time in Asia and the World Bank proposed to KIND to co-host the event.
ㅇ Over 200 people from about 40 countries including senior government officials of Asian nations such as Bangladesh and Mongolia, infrastructure experts from major international organizations and the Multilateral Development Bank, and representatives from domestic and foreign companies attended this meeting.
□ During the main event, Vice Minister Park Sun-ho said, “Korea has achieved amazing economic development over the past half-century and has made various infrastructure development outcomes both domestically and internationally, and therefore, Korea will be the optimal development partner for developing countries in Asia and other parts of the world.”
ㅇ Furthermore, Vice Minister Park said that KIND activities will be fully supported to further expand overseas infrastructure development and that it is also planning to active pursue the establishment of infrastructure development policy funds.
