- Korea's first related ministerial meeting since joining OSJD in 2018

- Held in Busan to support the bidding for hosting the 2030 World Expo

- Support for overseas expansion in the railway sector in connection with the 2023 Korea Railways & Logistics Fair

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister WON Hee-ryong) will hold the 50th Organisation for Co-operation between Railways (OSJD)* Ministerial Conference in BEXCO, Busan, for four days from 13 to 16 June.

* Organisation for Co-operation between Railways: An international organization established in 1956 to vitalize passenger and cargo transport by railways among Eurasian countries, Korea joined in 2018 (OSJD is the abbreviation of the official name, “Организация Сотрудничества Железных Дорог” in the way of English)

This Ministerial Conference (MC) will be Korea's first meeting since joining the OSJD in 2018, and it was decided to be held in Busan last December to support the hosting of the 2030 World Expo in Busan, especially considering that the majority of OSJD members are BIE members of the EXPO*.

* Out of the 19 countries attending the OSJD Ministerial Conference, 18 states are members of the World Expo Organization
