- Operating the shoulders of 269.9 kilometers of Seoul-Yangyang and Yeongdong expressways

- Secured 749 buses for emergency situations and opening central operations room for snow removal in case of heavy snowfall

To provide safe and convenient transportation for around 15,000 participants and officials including 1,803 athletes in the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics, which will be held in four cities and counties in Gangwon Province starting from 19 January to 1 February for 14 days, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister PARK Sang-woo) will be implementing the comprehensive transportation plan as a

special period to support for the smooth operation of the 15 winter sports.

With the 15,000 participants including athletes and a total of 250,000 spectators, there is likely to occur traffic congestion on the roads

near the stadiums during weekends and the opening and closing ceremonies.

Shoulder lanes will be activated where are expected to be congested to ensure smooth traffic flow, providing detour guidance and real-time traffic information, etc. to distribute traffic volume, and public transportation capacity such as buses and trains will be secured as much as

possible in preparation for emergencies.
