The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT; Minister KIM Yun-duk) attended the ‘Hydrogen Symposium 2026’ held at the
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 18 and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong’s Electrical
and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), which is responsible for legislation, operation, licensing, and safety management related to
gas, electricity, and railway systems in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to strengthen bilateral cooperation across the entire
hydrogen ecosystem.
The MOU was concluded following Hong Kong’s strong interest in Korea’s extensive experience accumulated through its hydrogen city
development projects, with both sides agreeing to cooperate in promoting technological advancement and information exchange
throughout the hydrogen value chain, including hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization.
