The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT; Minister KIM Yun-duk) announced that 23 new intercity and express bus routes,
including eight airport bus services, have been approved following a review of route applications submitted in the second half of 2025.
The route expansion aims to improve airport accessibility for regional residents and reduce transfer inconveniences. Under the new plan,
residents in regions such as Jeonju, Gunsan and Wando will gain more convenient access to airport bus services without the need for
multiple transfers.
In particular, MOLIT focused on strengthening connectivity in areas where railway services are limited in frequency or where travelers
previously had to transfer multiple times to reach airports or major destinations.
MOLIT emphasized that the routes will not begin operation immediately. Instead, bus operators must first complete preparatory
procedures, including vehicle procurement, driver recruitment and operational arrangements, before services can commence. Overall
details are as follows.
