The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister KIM Yun-duk) announced that the dedicated number of departure gates
exclusively available to Smart Pass users at Incheon International Airport has been expanded since May 28, with the share reaching up to 50 percent of all departure gates by the end of this year.
Smart Pass is a biometric airport service that allows passengers to pass through airport checkpoints, including departure gates and boarding gates, using facial recognition after registering their passport, facial information, and boarding pass through a mobile application.
Passengers who have completed Smart Pass registration in advance can use identity verification services at departure gates regardless of
airline, while boarding pass information is automatically linked to the Smart Pass application for passengers flying with Korean Air, Asiana
Airlines, Jeju Air, T’way Air, and Air Premia, eliminating the need for manual boarding pass registration.
