The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT; Minister KIM Yun-duk), together with Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) and
SR Corporation, launched an integrated railway application on August 3 and announced a series of improvements to Korea’s high-speed rail services.
The new integrated application is named “KORAIL+”, and the name was selected following a public preference survey and expert
consultations assessing its simplicity, intuitiveness and symbolic value.
KORAIL+ became available at 9:00 a.m. on August 3 through an update to the existing KORAIL Talk application or as a new download from
mobile application stores. Users who have enabled automatic application updates may receive the updated version automatically.
The payment process has been consolidated into a single screen, allowing passengers to apply discount coupons and mileage and select a
payment method without moving between multiple pages.
Search and booking functions for travel packages, tourist trains and rail passes have also been improved, as the service expands beyond a
railway ticketing application into an integrated Mobility as a Service, or MaaS, platform covering the broader travel experience.
