AI technology prevents dangerous driving of bus drivers by real-time risk warnings when there are risky maneuvers as implementing a pilot
project for safe driving utilizing AI on commuter buses with private companies
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister PARK Sang-woo) and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS,
President KWON Yong-bok) have announced the launch of a pilot project aimed at creating a safer commuting environment by using AI
technology on commuter buses.
The AI-based safe driving support project involves a solution that monitors the dangerous driving behavior of bus drivers in real time using AI video analysis cameras installed in the front and inside of the vehicle and provides immediate feedback to the driver.
If a bus driver commits serious traffic violations such as running a red light, crossing the centerline, using a mobile phone, drowsy driving, or
failing to pay attention to the road, the AI device will immediately alarm the driver.
