Heading towards Eco-friendly Future by New Train ITX-Maeum

Minister of the MOLIT WON Hee-ryong attended the opening ceremony of the eco-friendly new train 'ITX-Maeum' held at Taebaek Station on August 25th to inspect the train before the start of service on September 1st and urge the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) to ensure safe operation.
At the ceremony, the new name of the EMU-150 train was confirmed and announced as 'ITX-Maeum', and the plan to pursue carbon neutrality for the future by the Korail was also revealed to replace existing diesel passenger locomotives with eco-friendly EMU (electric multiple unit).
