At the inauguration ceremony held in Sejong on 2 January 2026, Vice Minister for Transport HONG Jee-sun of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) outlined his key policy priorities. These include establishing of a foundation for balanced national prosperity in both the metropolitan area and local regions by expanding a well-connected and equitable transportation network; accelerating transportation innovation by strengthening domestic technological capabilities in key future industries such as drones and UAM; and prioritizing public safety to prevent similar accidents.
