South Korea Seeks Role for Korean Firms in Vietnam’s High-Speed Railway Project

Minister KIM Yun-duk of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of the Republic of Korea met with Vietnamese Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh in Seoul on 26 August 2026 to discuss ways to strengthen Korea-Vietnam cooperation on major infrastructure projects, including supporting the participation of Korean companies in the feasibility study for Vietnam’s North-South High-Speed Railway project, as well as expanding cooperation in smart cities, intelligent transport systems (ITS), and people-to-people exchanges.
